Id say the most pulsating was the 4th round against Danny Williams 3rd division Swindon in 1967 ish, they dominated for over an hour and went in just the 1 up, but tore us to shreds, we were in the middle of an injury crisis Branfoot and Symm both played, ironically it was Plymouth wed knocked out the round before, who were a 4th division side. We scored 2 late goals, the winner was a hooked shot from a corner by wilf smith after Ritchie equalised it looked odds on a replay.

The Birmingham game a couple of years later that ended 2-2 was another cracker, but more even, gerry young from around 35 yards beat herriot to set up a replay with the winners home to Man utd in round 5, but we lost 1-2.

The Leeds game that preceeded that tie was an equally enthralling game, Wednesday fighting back after being pushed back for half an hour, a dubious pen against Megson gave Leeds the lead, but Ritchie headed past sprake who misjudged it and Big Jack was screaming at him.The replay at elland rd was something else, went to that as well.

There was just over 37K for the Swindon game, and both the Leeds and Birmingham games had over 52K, and over 50K at the two replays.

In the replay at Elland Road , was it Brian Woodhall that scored both goals ?

It is, I was in the old paddock with another 10k Owls that night, Albert Johannsen scored the 1st goal after 8 minutes, Bremner limped off about 5 mins after and from there on, peter eustace  just ran the game, leeds hit the bar and missed chances, but so did we

Owls or Plymouth to play Rochdale or Notts County in the next round.

If the Owls and County get through then that will lead to one of the most historical fixtures in World football .

Probably the two   professional football teams on the Planet against each other , history cannot be bought so let us hope it happens and  that the media recognise  a unique event .
