hello1964
When I was a boy we used eo have roe at all chippies really around Heeley. Scallops were a joy, potato scallops. You never see them now. Chips were nicer than nowadays and food a traditional joy. Any great chippy reminiscences anyone? What We at Highfields must have been posher than uus down Heeley. The only time you'd get a 'Potato scallop' in a chippie in Sheffield would be if a 'Yorkshire Fish Cake' had split during frying . geared
I remember the chippy on the corner of Leppings Lane and Catch Bar Lane did quite a traditional menu. Not sure now?
Thirsty Relic
Kaz and Julie ran the Phoenix at Woodseats for many years, then sold it to an established chip-shop owner. Sadly, that then had a fire, and I've not seen it opened since. Will the Phoenix rise from its ashes?

blackhill
Coming out of the Essoldo pictures Barnsley Road. Getting fish / fishcakes and chips in newspaper from Hunts. Walking home to where we livid in Deerlands Ave. Also after watching pictures at the Paragon Firth Park. Going across road to the chippie. Eating them waiting for number 1 bus.
