What's The Solution To Misinformation?

It is the case that if you put anything inside the quote box that wasn't written by the quoted person, then you are passing your words off as theirs.  That is misleading at best.

Also,  it  renders your additions to the quote, unquotable. That's hardly a sound basis for discussion.

I'm pleased to see that you've worked out how to post like the rest of us though.

Not entirely I haven't, if the second quote is on a different page it doesn't always put in on the same post.

I can say, in all honesty, that this is the first poster, on any forum, who has come out with all this nonsense.

This is the only effective way to deal with misinformation.

Fox News settles lawsuit with family of Seth Rich - CNN

Nov 24, 2020 — A Fox News spokesperson commented, "We are pleased with the resolution of the claims and hope this enables Mr. and Mrs. Rich to find a small ...

"The parents of Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee staffer whose unsolved murder became the basis for right-wing conspiracy theories, settled their lawsuit with Fox News on Tuesday.

"The settlement with Fox News closes another chapter in our efforts to mourn the murder of our beloved Seth, whom we miss every single day," the parents, Joel and Mary Rich, said in a statement through their attorneys.

The Rich parents added that the settlement will allow them to "move on from the litigation" and that they "are pleased with the settlement of this matter and sincerely hope that the media will take genuine caution in the future."

Nicholas Sandmann settled Friday with NBC-Universal, he said

"The media had lambasted the Covington Catholic High School student from Kentucky, now 19, over a confrontation at the 2019 March for Life in Washington, D.C.

"At this time I would like to release that NBC and I have reached a settlement," wrote Sandmann on Twitter, adding that the terms were confidential.

Following the 2019 incident in Washington, D.C., many media outlets and Democratic politicians criticized Sandmann for a confrontation with a Native American elder at the Lincoln Memorial following the march.

Sandmann was recorded on video wearing one of former President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign hats while smiling at the activist, Nathan Phillips, as Phillips beat a ceremonial drum and chanted at him in close proximity.

Several media reports at the time claimed the incident was racially charged on the part of the White teenager, which Sandmann and other witnesses disputed.

People have judged Sandmann "based off one expression, which I wasn't smirking, but people have assumed that's what I have," he said a 2019 interview with NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Nearby members of the Black Hebrew Israelites group were shouting slurs at him and his classmates, he added.

"I heard them call us incest kids, bigots, racists," Sandmann said.

"The Washington Post is the latest news organization to settle a defamation lawsuit launched by Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann over its botched coverage of a viral confrontation with a Native American elder that had portrayed the Kentucky teen as the aggressor.

CNN SETTLES SANDMANN DEFAMATION SUIT

Fox 19 first reported that CNN settled with Sandmann on Tuesday for an undisclosed amount. The $250 million defamation suit sought damages for the "emotional distress Nicholas and his family suffered" in the fallout of the network's reporting.

You couldn't make it up! Only last week you were repeating those claims, suggesting he was murdered by a hit squad in revenge for leaking hacked information!

Talk about making a complete arse of yourself

You really are full of it... I'm embarrassed for you! :hihi:

Thanks for the reminder  :)

I forgot to post this:

I was merely questioning the "official version", and suggesting there was more to the story, in light of recent events.

To anyone following the story, here is the "The Official Version":

The "Russians" attacked the DNC Server, and gave the Hillary emails to WIKILEAKS.

Independent IT Professionals and University Researchers, confirmed this to the Mueller and the FBI, who accepted this evidence at face value!

The (heavily redacted) Report on those conclusions was given to the FBI, by a Prominent D.C. Lawyer.

End of story, move on citizen, nothing to see here! Leave the poor family to grieve in peace!

But hey! Recent Events

The ongoing Durham Criminal Investigation into the genesis of the fake "Russian Collusion", and Related Matters, has now found that the "Prominent D.C. Lawyer", was none other than Clinton Campaign Consultant Michael Sussman, who was recently indicted.

See: "Idictment, United States of America vs Michael J. Sussman"
https://www.justice.gov/sco/press-release/file/1433511/download

(Read this, and despair for American Free and Fair Elections)

The Mueller investigation and the Department of Justice and now the Durham Investigation, has found no evidence that:

1 The Russian Dossier has credibility, indeed the primary "Russian" alleged SOURCE, has since been arrested.

2. Trump had a secret "backchannel server in the Trump tower" to a Russian Bank

3. The so called evidence of Russian Hacking of the DNC server has never been provided to the FBI, except in heavily redacted form, redacted by one, Michael J Sussman, it was accepted as fact, by the Mueller, and the FBI. Mueller on that basis Indicted 12 individuals (the usual suspects) with connections to Russia cibercrimes, but never sought to bring them before an American Court of Law. Indeed, The Justice Department dropped all charges against the 2 major players, when they asked for their day in court to refute the charges, citing "national Security:

4. That Sussman, had hired the "IT Professionals", and was acting and billing the Clinton campaign for his efforts

Critics of the widely reported, now proven false "Official Narrative" of the Russian Collusion Affairs, pointed to a DNC Insider who had access to the DNC server, as the likely source of the DNC hacking.

So now  no "credible proof" that it was the "Russians" who hacked the DNC Server, enter a "troubled young man"  who worked for the DNC as a computer specialist at the time of the so-called "Russian Hacking"

Seth Rich

"One of his tasks at the DNC was the development of a computer application to help voters locate polling stations.[32][33][34]

"Shooting and death

"On Sunday, July 10, 2016, at 4:20 a.m., Rich was shot about a block from his apartment at the southwest corner of Flagler Place and W Street Northwest[35] in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C.[36][37]

"Earlier that night he had been at Lou's City Bar, a sports pub 1.8 miles (2.9 km) from his apartment, in Columbia Heights, where he was a regular customer. He left when the bar was closing, at about 1:30 or 1:45 a.m.[38] Police were alerted to gunfire at 4:20 a.m. by an automated gunfire locator.[39] Within about one minute after the gun shots, police officers found Rich conscious with multiple gunshot wounds.[40] He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died[41][42][43] over 1+1⁄2 hours after being shot.[3] That he was not shot in the head is seen as evidence against the shooting having been an "assassination".[3] According to police, he died from two shots to the back[36][37] and may have been killed in an attempted robbery. Residents noted the neighborhood had been plagued by robberies.[36]

"Rich's mother told NBC's Washington affiliate WRC-TV: "There had been a struggle. His hands were bruised, his knees are bruised, his face is bruised, and yet he had two shots to his back, and yet they never took anything ... They didn't finish robbing him, they just took his life."[44] The police told the family they had found a surveillance recording showing a glimpse of the legs of two people who could be the killers.[45]"-WIKI

Note: in this alleged robbery, his expensive watch, wallet, cash and credit cards were never taken.

Developing.....

Some would consider it to be deliberately misleading.

I can't understand why a well intentioned poster would do such a deceitful thing.
