The Architects then decided that cladding was the answer and we all know how that ended up . Bricks and mortar have been around a couple of thousand years , They have tried all sorts of different materials and none can compare . Yes, nothing like a brick building. The ABC cinema's side wall (quite a large area) was entirely of brick. The Sacred Heart church at Hillsboro looks fantastic and has an unusual style of brick. The bricklayer in charge on that job went under the nick name Big Apple , I forget his real name but that was the name he was referred to . So many of the sixties brutalist buildings have now disappeared, buildings that would have been there long after the cladded monstrosities built today have fallen or burnt down . Take a look around Brook Hill roundabout some of those buildings look as though a nut case has been let loose with a slide rule and a pencil . Lego land . harvey19
Wasn't the record for laying a number of bricks in a given time made at the Odeon cinema in town ? Could a GP spin a brick ?

Yes I've got a degree. It's easy compared to working on site in the winter. It's just middle class drama queens, who have never really had much difficulty in life, feeling sorry for themselves. Probably not, but most would admire and respect the skill and training that goes into being able to do the job. Lots of arrogant ***** in medicine, but the vast majority don't look down on a good job well done.

So do you think getting a doctorate in medicine or dentistry is 'easy compared to working on site" ? Is your degree in medicine or dentistry? At the end they're very well paid, its a job for life and a good number.
