cuttsie
Nuclear scientists have set the doomsday clock at 100 seconds to midnight due to the situation on the border between Russia and the Ukraine . ECCOnoob
Damn. That must be why my tube was cancelled and I had to faff around finding an alternative. Oh what a disaster... it all ends with me stuck on a train...... oh wait. False alarm everyone. But....... maybe it happened. Maybe this is it. The afterlife exists and seems its nothing more than a mirage of sitting in a budget hotel room eating Five Guys and drunkenly replying to SF posts Edited January 21, 2022 by ECCOnoob
trastrick
The Doomsday Clock has been arbitrarily "reset" so many times over the last 20 years, it has become a joke. It's the only clock that can run backwards! lol

No it hasn't. Its been at 100 seconds to midnight for the last 3 years. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/doomsday-clock-stays-at-100-seconds-to-midnight-and-remains-closest-to-apocalypse-ever-12521110 Load of nonsense anyway. trastrick
The Doomsday cults have always been with us. Seers, oracles, priests, medicine men, rain dancers and fortune tellers. "The End is Nigh. Give Up Your Worldly Goods And Ye Shall Be Saved!| (second oldest profession) They used to be laughed at. But these days there's enough sheep out there, willing to be fleeced, it has been adopted by opportunistic lying politicians. P.T Barnum was right! Let us hope it is not like when Germany invaded Poland as this time the balloon could really go up . the 50 odd million who died in that World war would be a mere drop in the ocean . Nah. Biden's given the nudge and wink wink to Putin and Xi that a "minor" incursion will be met only with a "tut, tut". So there goes Ukraine and Taiwan! He's already on record as saying the U.S. will not defend them militarily, so they'll probably just get the local governments to declare fealty to the mother countries, and an invasion will likely not even be needed. Joe already gave up Crimea and Afghanistan under similar pressure. The U.S, and I would imagine the U.K. have no stomach for foreign wars these days. Which may be a good thing! But history will tell.
