Alextopman Posted February 7, 2022 Share Posted February 7, 2022 (edited) We had an emergency last night and after waiting ages for an ambulance we were told it took so long because there had been a shooting at Dore and the Hospital was in lockdown. We were also told my Mum would be outside waiting for up to three hours and it would take ten hours to see the Doctor. Fortunately she wasn't outside that long but didn't see a Doctor until this afternoon. We were not allowed to go to the Hospital to be with her. There's also been a long term policy of no escorts in the emergency department unless there's exceptional circumstances. Thanks. We were told it was in lockdown because of the shooting and it was standard procedure when a shooting victim was being treated. They did say if the person had Alzheimer's or was confused they would let a family member attend. However looking at your username I'll take your word for it.
