Ukraine: Invasion Imminent?

A very interesting take on what is happening and why.

Worth noting, though,  that the recent banking sanctions have severely restricted Putin's access to his foreign currency "war chest" which Starkey thought was of great importance to any Russian success.

Putin enablers and appeasers.

(…Lol)

The people agree with you!

A poll released Friday from the Harvard Center for American Political Studies (CAPS)-Harris Poll found that 62% of Americans believed Putin would not have pulled the trigger if Trump were still president, The Hill reported.

Lol

Joe Biden: "We have no intention of fighting Russia"

The sanctions are "not designed to interrupt the flow of Russian Energy to the World"

Based on hot air and wishful thinking...

...and, of course, contradicts the claims made in your post #1251 :?

Regardless, Trump isn't president... he lost because the he already ******ed up the last crisis!

Trump: "Putin's a genius"... just waiting for "Ukraine should belong to Russia because most people there speak Russian" to complete the picture :hihi:

More chance Putin wouldn't have invaded if Trump had never been president, than because he is no longer president.

so according to the 2 US servicemen ive started watching on youtube for their ideas on tactics and strategy etc

theyve just mentioned Russias estimated service personal etc losses to date

9000 troops

30 planes

31 helicopters

217 tanks

90 artillery pieces

900 APCs

42 MLRs

2 boats

374 cars

He who it is far too politically correct and woke to mention, but here's a hint: He's old, somewhat dementia prone, and has the intials J.B.

2 things - dementia is binary - you either have it or you don't, and secondly, there are no suggestions he has it...

"There is no reason to think that Biden is suffering from anything more than traits that characterised him in younger decades, such as foot-in-mouth disease and a tendency to talk too much. Neither of these is degenerative. "

So from your post we can take 1 main thing - Vladimir Putin bears primary responsibility for this latest development.

And the fact you posted it to support your argument suggests that you agree with this statement - which is good.

No!

Dementia is an progressive disease.

You don't suddenly wake up with it!  :)

This is an interesting story, no idea if its true, but if it is, it has deep repercussions for Russia

A few things about it.

If someone in the FSB really were tipping off the Ukrainians there's no way they'd reveal the source since it would discourage them from sending any more information or worse lead to them being found.

This is likely a way of sowing doubt about the real source of the information:

  • Are the Chechen's communications insecure and they don't want them to realise and fix it?
  • Do they have an informant amongst the Chechens who they want to distract attention from?
  • Do they have an informant amongst the Russians, but not in the FSB, who they want to distract attention from?

Given Putin's paranoid state, he'll realise all the above and it will still prey on his mind. He'll realise it's almost certainly not someone in the FSB, but won't be able to be sure. He'll worry the source is someone in some other Russian security/military organisation, but which one? Maybe the Chechens are incompetent or can't all be trusted to do his bidding?

Agreed - but you pass a threshold at which point it is diagnosed.

Before that you are not recognised to have it, after that diagnosis you do ... so the diagnosis of dementia is binary.

Then the stages of dementia are progressive... generally 3 stages.

Nonsense.

You've obviously never had one in your family. It is progressive all the way up to clinical diagnosis.
