Gonna be interesting to see what happens Yeah, I reckon old Putin should've spent more time playing computer strategy games made by Paradox studios. Two key things to consider in their games: don't allow factions to build up and before you attack someone, check who they're allied with and who will fight with them. Guest
Haven't had time yet to watch the news properly today but it doesn't look as if the balloon's gone up yet. I watched a video late last night on You tube where it showed the main streets of Moscow being filled with armoured vehicles and troop carriers. Given that Putin's generals have struggled to contain the Ukrainians for well over a year, it would seem unlikely that they could fight on 2 fronts at the same time. That was Hitler's big mistake in WW2 and I would have thought that Putin would be aware of that. You can be sure the Muscovites will suddenly take much more notice of Putin's adventures knowing that war may come much closer to them instead of staying in Ukraine. . melthebell
Also while 25.000 Wagner troops are in Russia, that means theres 25.000 not in Ukraine fighting
Mister Gee
I do hope that both sides remain calm and remember that compromise is a sign of weakness and it’s very important to fight this out until the bitter end, which probably also means pulling back from operations in the Ukraine.

melthebell
Apparently theyve taken part of another Russian town now, Voronezh, which is halfway between Rostov on Don and Moscow
melthebell
OK looks like the head of the Wagner group has moved on from talking about Russian Military and moved on to Putins regime In his reply to President Vladimir Putin's TV address earlier today, Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin was defiant, vowing to end "corruption, lies and bureaucracy" in Russia. He'd previously said the reasons for going to war in Ukraine were lies and its about promotion for the military leaders

trastrick
The popular Western MSM "narrative" that Russia is about to be defeated by Zelensky from without, or Wagner from within, or both, is naive wishful thinking. About the same odds as that the other popular MSM "narrative", that The Earth is going to die, in 5, or 10 years. The only only real threats to Nuclear Russia, are from from China, and the West, and both are on record, as having no interest in a war with Russia. Those expecting to see those two events actually come to pass in their lifetimes, would do well to take note of: RC Energy Sorry Greta, Humanity is Still here. On June 21, 2018, Greta Thunberg tweeted that “climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.” Five years have come and almost gone, and the tweet has been suspiciously deleted. https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2023/06/21/sorry_greta_humanity_is_still_here_and_stronger_than_ever_942196.html (Algore's doomsday prognosications, likewise met with reality). Anybody with half a brain and basic English comprehension skills reading her tweet would realise that she didn't say climate change would wipe out humanity in five years. Of course, some of those who realise that will misrepresent it to those without half a brain. But then you only introduced that as a mechanism to distract from Putin's problems. Russia as a country isn't going away. Putin's hold on the country is drastically weakened however quickly he eliminates the Wagner Group. Likewise his ability to successfully prosecute his invasion of Ukraine. By the way, the reason you get called a Putin puppet is because you're very keen to argue for Ukraine accepting a negotiated resolution whenever they look likely to retake some of their land and have never suggested a negotiated resolution when Russia are in the ascendant. You might also stop complaining about the west 'feeding the bear' in the past whilst you advocate feeding the bear as a solution to this war - it looks a tad hypocritical.
