I think Putin is having some kind of mental breakdown...

His personality seems to have changed from coolly ruthless to agitated and aggressive...Macron thought so after meeting him.

There are rumours about of his ill health and if he is indeed a wounded, paranoid, semi recluse in his bunker, then that makes him totally unpredictable and very dangerous.?

Snipped

Its quite amusing to see people getting into a frenzy on Twitter about our pathetic sanctions, yet Germany has supposedly closed down the NORD STREAM 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany - which is apparently the way to do things,

The fact it isn't even operational yet - the German courts suspended certification on the 16th November 2021 - or that the other pipelines are still busy sending gas into Germany seems to have escaped those commentating

Not sure what that symbol means...I was born in the last century before such frivolity became commonplace.

Please could you kindly explain what your point is, in the Queen's English?

Of course you know what it means. My response to the post I quoted is appropriate

Yeah, I see that now. Like I say I didn't read it properly,  saw my name in bold and jumped to the wrong conclusion.

As for Putins lies, yup he probably tells some whoppers but he's a politician.  They all lie. It's in their nature. However I still don't buy that Russia is the aggressor. I believe the problem lies with nato and American aggression.  Wanting to surround Russia on most sides. I think putins paranoia is justified.

If you think NATO/America are trying to surround Russia on most sides you really need to look at a map:

What if he decides he is personally on his way out of this world and might as well "right all those perceived

I totally agree. Putin appears to be suspicious of everyone including those in the Kremlin.

The fear of losing power is affecting his mental health.

This is typical behaviour of autocratic dictators. We only need  to read about previous ones in history to recognise the paranoid symptoms.

I was expecting a stock market crash today, instead it slightly up. We have done very little.

Ukraine isn't a member of NATO meaning no British troops should be sent there. By all means send British troops to Poland and other NATO countries at a time when there are problems in the area.    The Ukraine president is clearly hoping Britain and other NATO members will do more than just announcing sanctions. The Ukraine / Russia situation is a little similar to the British and Ireland situation over the years meaning there are good reasons why it shouldn't really be British business to get involved.

I’m sure it was  on the news a few weeks ago that British soldiers are in Ukraine training their army but I could be wrong.  I agree that we shouldn’t get involved.
