Your posts are remarkably similar to your other contributions in that you claim some inspirational insight whilst stating the bleeding obvious.

Lol

To paraphrase Arthur Conan Doyle, "Some people, my Dear Watson, are incapable of seeing the "bleeding"obvious, even though it is staring them in the face!"  :)

They are the ones who blame the horse, when it tires of pulling the wagon they are all riding in.

They are the fools who will always be with us.

Human nature!  :)

I'm a big fan of Einstein and Arthur Conan Doyle's "inductive reasoning", often misread as deductive reasoning. Where ID start with a theory and ends with a prediction, whereas "Inductive reasoning" starts with observed facts, looks for a pattern, and ends with a theory.

An example of inductive reasoning that might be germain to this topic might be the following set of facts.

Which Administrations were in power when Totalitarians made their major moves, in the last 100 years. or so?

1914 WW1 Germany Invades France, Woodrow Wilson, Democrat

1939 WW2 Germany Invades Poland F.D. Roosevelt, Democrat

1941 WW2 Japan Attacks America F.D. Roosevelt, Democrat

1946 Ho Chi Min Invades ViewtNam F.D. Roosevelt, Democrat

1950 North Korea Invades S. Korea H.Truman, Democrat

1979 Iran falls to Khomeini J. Carter, Democrat

1996 Osama bin Laden Officially Declares War on U.S. W. Clinton, Democrat

2014 Russia Invades Ukraine (Crimea) B. Obama, Democrat

2021 The Taliban take over Afghanistan J. Biden, Democrat

2022 Russia Invades Ukraine (Donbas) J. Biden, Democrat

What does this tell you about the "dangers to democracy" posed by Republican Administrations, vs Democrat Administrations, which is the current "narrative" of the Left and their like minded friends in the Media.?

What would a Sherlock Holmes, or an Einstein make of this?

What do YOU make of this?

More importantly, perhaps, what a Totalitarian would deduce.

censorship and propaganda on an industrial scale

That's quite correct,  and there is a growing resistance to the war by Russian people who are now realising the truth.

I've heard that our security services are now enlisting some of them as spies  and Putin is now definitely weaker than he was.

I would think that the numbers of body bags coming back to Russia must be having an effect on the population too.

The West does have to bear some blame for the situation but Putin was the one ( this time ) who attacked another peaceful country.

With the number of deaths the Russian people must think there is justification for continuing the conflict I wonder what their reasons are. ?

Who was in power when the Taliban flew several jumbo jets into American buildings??

Strangely it's not listed?

Not all, Dear Watson!  :)

That was merely an enemy attack in the Official War that Osama bin Laden declared on the U.S., while Clinton was in power. It was planned, and the terrorist pilots were being trained for the mission under the Administration of Clinton/Gore, before Bush was even elected.  :)

The West has been painted as the Great Satan by a large part of the World.

China, North Korea, Cuba, South America, Middle East, South Africa,, et al.

There are even some who have expressed those sentiments in the U.K.. See Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan

The list of countries the West has invaded in the last 50 years, or so, is incredible.

The West believes it has the right to spread "democracy", "New Liberal World" Order, and "Our Values", "Regime Change" by force, if necessary,

When Russians see a Nuclear Weapons Coalition expandind to their doorstep, and the Leader of the West, screaming, "For God's sake, this man (Putin) can NOT stay in power", they get their backs up a little :)

Especially when the look at history and see what lengths, these self appointed moral superiors will actually go to with their invasions, and even dropping Atom Bombs, on innocent civilians in two major cities in Japan. killing and maiming hundreds of thousands.

Having been attacked several times on their Eastern Front, by Europeans, it is relatively easy to convince the Russians that it could easily happen again.

Forget morals and right and wrong in wars, it's down to a matter of survival, when humans disintegrate to all out war!

Thank you for an interesting and sensible answer.

Blind patriotism?

Possibly but they must have their reasons for supporting the invasion of Ukraine.
