A pilot scheme in Wales is to offer care leavers £1600 pm for two years . Around 500 people could qualify

This is a great idea.

I thought they left care at 16 actually, which is very young to have a lot of responsibility. 

 

Even at 18 I hope they have access to good advice and money management, and help with a few life skills.

 

But I think it's a good idea and really hope it works for them.

Many of these kids will have had an horrible time growing up. they need all the help they can get.
