iansheff
It shows how some councils are intent on milking the motorist, charging you parking rates based on the emissions rating of your car. Owners of some cars pay a hell of a lot more road tax than others and this council believes it is ok to charge more to park in their car park, because of the car they choose to drive. In theory cars take up one space (other than morons that cannot park in a space correctly) and that is what you are paying to use, why should emissions come into it other than as an extra way of making money. Lewisham councillor Patrick Codd said the move aims to encourage walking, cycling and public transport use. Drivers hit out at council car park which gives motorists 130 different prices (thesun.co.uk) Edited February 26, 2022 by iansheff
Mr Bloke
Hmmm... Typical local council logic there! Surely it would reduce emissions even more if larger vehicles were actually charged less to park? Drivers would then be inclined to leave their vehicle parked up for longer... ... thereby reducing the pollution they produce! HeHasRisen
Dont see the issue, its not terribly difficult to find out which category your vehicle is and once you do, you just have the 13 to pick from all based on time, like in any other pay and display car park.
