Runningman
Anyone hired a Thermal Imaging Camera to check the heat loss through the walls of your house ? The daily rate is expensive ! Are they easy to use ? Have you had a company come to your house, use a camera and then give you the results ?
RJRB
We were offered a survey some time ago but it was obviously being offered to lead to work to supposedly reduce heat loss. We have loft and cavity wall insulation and double glazing so not much more we can do.
Findlay
You can get a FLIR camera for your phone but they have gone up massively over the past few years. You are not going to see much heat loss through walls as the view in temperature difference which will not be much. Most heat loss is through drafts so thermal cameras can pick up on gaps around window frames, glass panels and door frames. You are not going to make up the cost of hiring a thermal camera in the short term but could be a plan if you are thinking of investing in a new door or Argon filled double glazing units for the long term.
