crookesey
Every nation has an honours system of some sort or other, they used to be awarded for bravery or exemplary service, these days it appears to be a gong for the boys (and girls of course). He is also reported to be considering 'trimming' the number of 'Working Royals' on the civil list too. Not before time?
crookesey
My late mother used to work for The Rt Hon. the Lord Hattersley, or Roy as she used to refer to him. To be fair she and many more liked him because of his politeness and fairness, but a knighthood and a peerage is in my book, not earned for just being a nice guy, however I’m certain that Baron Kinnock had much to do with it.
