Anna B Posted March 16, 2022 Share Posted March 16, 2022 (edited) After 6 years Nazanin Ratcliffe has been freed following the British government's payment of a longstanding debt of nearly £400 million pounds. Iran paid the money in exchange for tanks. The government didn't deliver the tanks, but kept the money. So this is what it's all been about, but we weren't told the detail. It wasn't a ransome as Boris said once upon a time. Wouldn't it be nice if we were told the truth occasionally? Anyway she's on her way home at last. Several governments have made varying ridiculous excuses for paying it. Why did our governments think it was OK to keep the money? Why did they not mention this little detail when they were pontificating over the release?
