Queen Victoria visit to Sheffield 21st May 1897 News Report 'Quote' ..... the queen was to celebrate her 78th Birthday 3 days after this visit on the 24th May 1897. ..... The Queen never left her carriage at any time during the visit, but the reason being for this was her health. She was more or less immobile as a result of heart disease. This was the reason why!
