Obsessed with merging threads? Christ I’ve merged about 5 in total. And @Chekhov there were a few reports in ASKING for the thread to be merged…

This… is completely incorrect and would love to know what your basing this on (me merging the one thread about to a bus to a thread about a bus)

If you ask him nicely, he’ll do you a lovely multi-coloured pie chart to show his reasoning.

And annotate it in italics.

I think all threads which end in arguing and bickering should be merged into one Super Duper Megathread.

Who's with me?

I agree! ;)

Me too. The old admin were very keen on merging threads.

That's not me having a go. Just an observation.

Not me, although I do think the antagonists should be given a 'three strikes and you're out' warning.

Now that I will definitely agree with.👍

I love a bit of banter, even a bicker every now and then some take it to a silly level just arguing with folk for the sake of it.

It worked very well on the two ISP forums where I was a  mod in the past -  but we had to be careful if they were actual subscribers, as it could mean they were cut off from a support channel. In that case, they were just 'restricted' on where they could post.

It sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Have you suggested it to admin?

I haven't -as yet, but I may well do. This forum is getting a little out of control - IMHO.

I think the light touch moderation is good, great even but yeah some people just abuse the hell out of it and abuse other posters too

I agree, and if I get a spare few minutes during the day, I may compose a PM to SFBeca. Depends how busy I am on my usual forum.
