The venue address was confirmed along with the cost of the journey. On the strength of this two more people booked taxis and were told that's fine there is already a car booked for that address. An hour before pick up time we were asked to pay online which we did. Ten minutes after pick up time we checked and were told City don't have a pre booking system and there were no cars available as the area isn't covered by them. This is nothing but fraud, taking payment for services that they had no intention of providing would involve criminal proceedings anywhere else. I have often said (including on here) that City have not had an actual Pre-booked service for years. They'll take your booking and then just put it out on the system closer to the time for any driver to pick it up or not. Sad to say, but it is the way of the world. Will they turn up ? We have used City Taxis and they are a bit hit and miss. Very frustrating when you have to be at your destination for a certain time. Rockers rule Posted May 1, 2022 Share Posted May 1, 2022 Is there a reason why SF attracts (usually on a weekend) so many 1st post wonders who's only interest in Sheffield is complaining / belittling or slagging off some Taxi firm, Pizza shop, Bus company ❓ As Crookesey says two sides to every story.
