Moore & Wright Employees

Recommended Posts

I posted this under Spear & Jackson heading with very little response -so come on there MUST be somebody, somewhere who can help us headline M&W in Hawley!!!

Hawley Gallery at Kelham Island is planning an exhibition early next year covering the Spear & Jackson Group, and initially we are looking for people who worked at Moore & Wright who would be willing to talk about their time there.  Later exhibitions will cover other companies in the group, eg Neill tools, Spear & Jackson range of building/gardening tools, Tyzack saws to name a few.  If you think you can help or have a friend/relation who worked there please tell them.  These companies employed hundreds of local people and 'everybody seemed to know somebody' who worked there and are an important part of Sheffield history.  Thanks
