Resident
Surprise surprise. The 60k removal cost has now reached 95k and it's been revealed that the council haven't followed the tender process... So 700k into a project that start to end was budgeted at 300k. No wonder SCC are skint. Edited February 16, 2023 by Resident
HeHasRisen
Small fry compared to the social care burden tbh. Thats the reason council tax is going up 5%, not this. Try telling the idiots on Facebook that though.

No wonder SCC are skint. My bold. Why are we surprised? It was only a few weeks ago that all the major SCC players were apologising and trotting out the tired line, "Lessons will be learned." SCC was given around £15 million from the Govt, as far as I can remember for city centre regeneration projects & so far they've wasted close to £1 million with no benefits to show for it.
