trastrick
In November the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Luminaries from around the World will be in attendance. They will be discussing the fight against what is described as the Geatest Threat to Humanity (Washington Post, Prince Charles) so it's not something to be taken lightly. A new United Nations report says climate change poses major threats to people and ecosystems around the world, and warns that effects could be catastrophic if humanity fails to quickly curb planet-heating emissions from the burning of fossil fuels. "Nobody is safe", they tell us. Today the Guardian reports that, " CO2 has not been so high since before hominids walked upright – and are not dropping fast enough to avert catastrophe" What will they tell us about the sacrifices we all must make to deal with it. Hopefully along with the celebs and politicians, they will have reputable scientists to explain our dire circumstances, and how much time we have left to avert catastrophe. What are you prepared to give up, after having potentially survived the COVID10 pandemic ? alchresearch
Trouble with the Guardian is that many of their writers live in a little bubble where making changes to combat climate change is pretty easy for them and can be a bit holier than thou at times. Greta will pop up with the answers after taking some time off. And the America dwelling ex royals will surely lead by example and stop flying etc
