Oh dear, what is happening in China has me even more worried about the economy, the world's as well a sour own. If China's dictatorship do not give up their Zero Covid policy we're in for it either way.

One of two things will happen, mass civil unrest, which will affect supply chains from China (which, unfortunately, we cannot do without now) in a  potentially very serious manner.

Or mass lockdowns which will get even worse, which will do the same to supply chains.

Either way it could get very messy for us as well as the Chinese people.

What worries me more is why are they doing it ?

what are they so worried about?

You should be worried about China! If some get their way, inflation may one day be seeen as a privilege of living in a peacefull society.

Under the category, "Oh look Ma, they want to do it again!"

First Putin "has to go!" now  it's China's turn for a little "regime change"  :)

China’s uprisings present an opportunity to the West

"Still, there is much that the United States and its allies can do to assist. Now is the time for the Biden administration to boldly demonstrate support for civil society and popular movements in China, to build up human rights and, ideally, help the Chinese people to overthrow the CCP. Western governments should voice support for the protesters and convey support for sympathetic public demonstrations in Western cities, such as those in Taiwan and Australia.

"If the global community, led by the Biden administration, seizes this opportunity to embolden the protesters to take stronger action against the CCP, they might just build a coalition that can bring about the downfall of a repressive, aggressive regime.

One totaltarian regime at a time, please!  :)

Who's "they"?

Oh... a former Chinese political prisoner and survivor of the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Isn't that exactly what you would expect them to say? :suspect:

Sounds like a difficult situation:

Of course!

I'm just fascinated by the various attitudes to "protest movements" that prevail in today's World.

Some public protests against "draconian" diktats by governments are lauded by, say, the Human Rights Watch industry, but  excused in the West as necessary for the good of the people!

Hard to tell 'em apart!  :)

Which "draconian diktat" is being excused by the West here?
