Janis Brown
I was at Abbeydale Girls School from 1962 to 1969. I was in Nightingale House. I think back on my time there mostly with pleasure, remembering the Christmas Carol Concerts and the parties in the first two years etc. I was so sad when they pulled the building down. Wished they could have used it for some other purpose. A friend and I managed to get in just before and picked up some of those yellowy/green wall tiles - do you remember them - that were falling off the walls as souvenirs! In the sixth form, as the common room was always so crowded, a group of us used to meet in a small room on the back corridor which we called The Extra Common Room. I remember Dr Green, Miss Tyler, Miss Williams, Mrs Taverner, Miss Lucas etc etc. Do you remember the chocolate pudding with chocolate icing on top?!
