TeatOwl95
Safe standing areas are a far better set up than the current norm of standing in front of your seat which really does your shins in on the back of the seat in front 😂 Giving those who want to stand the option to do so means those who prefer to sit can do so too without having to worry about having their view blocked as the standers will be in a different area. Standing is perfectly safe in proper facilities and under proper management.

You do realise it won't be back to the olden days of standing where you want? You'll have an assigned spot and you'll have to stick in your allocated space. Will they paint a number on the steps ?

scottf
Exactly this above. I have been to football grounds in Germany and also the USA that have this installed and it is very successful. The 'seats' in Orlando's stadium even have a beer holder
briret
When I went to Wembley in 1966 to watch Wednesday in the cup final, a commissionaire in full uniform escorted me to a space in the crowd and told me to stand there.Them were the days
Baron99
Celtic introduced a safe standing section about 5 or 6 years ago. Yes it did improve the atmosphere but of course you can never legislate for those using it. It has caused a number of problems. Certain fans aren't content just to stand in their allocated seat section but move. Certain fans aren't content with just standing on the concrete steps but feel the need to climb up on the metalwork in front of them, resulting in fans behind either doing similar or having their views obstructed. Maybe it's an age thing. I'm now used to sitting on the Kop at BDTBL. If they bring in a standing section in my bit of the Kop, I'll be looking for a new seat.
