Beau_
Bit late reply here, but might help someone i moved to Southey green in July this year, I like it, my neighbours are all nice, Iv had no problems. Before moving there I read on here and in contrast to what people say, it’s not too bad, think they are forgetting it’s like half the price of some other areas of Sheffield… so yeah, it’s not ‘posh’, its just a typical uk social housing area, certainly better area than houses I was viewing in Manchester for example. There’s quite a few nice done up houses & new build estates in the area to mix it up a bit too, it’s a good location for getting to city in 10 mins, Meadowhall in 10 mins and peak district in about 15 mins, Hillsborough in 5 mins. (By car) Pros: lots of woods/park area near by, it’s cheap for what you get house size/price, local post office & small shops, good location for getting around by car cons : police like to use Southey green road as a cut through, some cars drive fast in the area, no tram stops (Hillsborough closest 40 min walk), some off road bikes drive in area (very occasionally so doesn’t bother me) Edited October 11, 2022 by Beau_
