I don't read newspapers. Haven't done for years, pure trash for the masses.

I heard it from the owner of a small chain of convenience shops. He has 8 shops I think.

Hearsay, feeds social media, news, phone strokers.

How much per unit are you paying extra after cancelling your direct debit.

No, from the mouth of a local businessman who knows what he's talking about.

You proposed it recently didn't you? ... but you're not going to do it are you, because you know it's beyond stupid.

It is similar to the way that the poll tax was defeated. I know you liked it, but that was an iniquitous tax. It was civil disobedience, rather than civil unrest that did for that. I’ll tell you my summons for non payment story one day. It is interesting.

If people pay what they paid last year and no more, I think it would give the energy companies a huge problem. They are clearly profiteering, so I think plenty of people would join in.

Let’s see, shall we. My money is on it not getting to that stage.

Do you think the people will back down or the energy companies?

I suspect that the government will put pressure on the energy companies to reduce prices. They clearly have scope to. If that fails, there is always the option of a more  punitive windfall tax, but I don’t think that. Is a great solution.

I’d also expect VAT removed and the green levy dumped.

There is no way that £4000 pa energy bills can happen. If they do, people will die.

I hope you are right 🙏

Obviously not about people dying, that would be shameful but the rest of your post, yeah I really hope you are right.

More suppliers will go bust, the cost will be passed on to the responsible consumers.

I take exception to that.

Don't you understand that we are approaching a point where people will simply not have the money to pay these rich companies their ever increasing rates?

The big energy providers are making billions.

There is nothing responsible about supporting them doing that whilst people are scared to put the heating on.
