Does anyone one here use a slow cooker?

I love stews and casseroles in winter.

Yes, me too.

There's a website (I found it on Facebook) that has all sorts of ideas for meals that can be done in a slow cooker.

Another one here that uses one.

Prepare the ingredients and put in the cooker before you go to bed and it's ready the next day (almost). Don't be tempted to put herbs in at the start as they can be overwhelming and bitter if cooked too long.

Don't be put off by fools who say they don't use less energy to cook either!

Let us know when electricity is cheaper than gas.

Thanks Anna,

Will have a look out for it.

Stews and Casseroles are one of the very few things about winter that I like!

Yes, it's amazing what can be cooked in a slow cooker.

Absolutely.  But me being me I always learn the hard way. Took me about 4 soggy cakes until I found out about the tea towel trick.

They are spot on now.

Yep. I was surprised too but it works. There's loads of recipes online and a few tutorials on YouTube . Give it a go? 👍

Imagine If a device was freely available, that allowed you to quantify your energy usage from different sources.

That would be a handy tool, instead of guessing.
