Ian Lavery is the Labour Mp for Wansbeck . He was the Chair of the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn . Thought you would've known that

His knowledge and understanding of economics along with an ability to convey such information to a lay person is top notch. I fully agree that he would be highly qualified and capable member of any future cabinet. I was delighted when I heard he'd put his name forward. Me too. Paul Mason would be the ideal candidate. I don't know who makes the decisions, but if the council have anything to do with it, they're bound to be biased towards an ex councillor - though why, beats me. The councillors of the past have hardly covered themselves in glory have they? We must have one of the worst councils in the country...

Why on earth would you think a local authority decides who stands for election for MP? The two things are totally seperate and not linked at all. Well they were old time Labour. I wonder if they'd even be acceptable in the Labour party these days. We have to remember all the things they fought for and supported need fighting for all over again these days. The Wets in Starmer's Labour haven't got the stomach for a fight. Meanwhile people, don't confuse Paul Mason with Chris Mason, both political commentators, both on telly.
