Yes, and I'm old enough to remember that match!

What a game to witness for Blades fans and for neutral football supporters, although I don't think there would have been many of those at Bramall Lane on that day. Pity we didn't have Match of the Day and recorders back then.

It was actually pay on the day on the Kop on Boxing Day 1979 I did so myself.

You get a lot trying to refute that fact and saying it was all ticket but actually that isn't true.

They were that short of players they borrowed them off each other and out of the crowd to make numbers up.

Not in any official record books but a straw to grasp I suppose.

Any chance of the official team squads for both teams in 1943?.

By the way they managed to complete the northern league season once during the war and do you know who won?.

Still nothing official and recognised in any records.

Straw grasping.
