Its a set percentage and wages have gone up, are you seriously saying they should have whacked 2% (or whatever the rate each year was) on the rate every year since the 1940s? Just to return to this insanity....assuming the rate of NI was 10% in 1960, we would currently be paying at least 323% NI contributions on our wages under Anna B's cracking scheme.
