Because that's just the the way it works? Each of the UN Council's 15 members takes up the presidency for a month, on a rotating pattern, and now it's Russia's turn again, since the rules haven't changed in the meantime. So yes, all amoral that the situation may be, that's "just the way it works". Sod all to do with 'the MSM', or 'with Biden', or <whatever other strawman you care to build on it>. Yet all 'President of United Nations Security Council' that Putin may be this month, would not stop him getting arrested on sight, the very moment he sets foot outside his aircraft if he visited any country that is a signatory of the ICC, under the warrant issued 17 March 2023. There is no way Vlad will ever attend.

That's the problem, the "way it works" stinks. We badly need leaders in government, who would change "the way it works". Trouble is, they face political opposition, even persecution, from the establishment status quo, who are quite happy with "the way it works", and will do whatever it takes to maintain it. So there's absolutely no incentive for any political outsider to try to change things. On the contrary, doing so ensures a concerted effort to destroy them, their families and like minded associates And so it continues, Crisis after crisis, economic chaos, and war after war! Pyrotequila
Will this actually make a difference? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-65164726 Quote Finland will become the 31st member of Nato on Tuesday, the Western military alliance's secretary general has announced. The application was prompted by the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, with which Finland shares a long border.

But for Europe, absolutely. With NATO extended to the entire Finnish border, Putin’s got nowhere left to go east, without tripping Article 5. And the one thing he won’t do, is have at NATO, because then it’s curtains for him any which way it turns out.

It's a direct result of Putin's stated desire to rebuild the Russian Empire and the implications of what that means for Finland. I suggest you look up a bit of Finnish history. Finland would not be in NATO, if Putin had kept taking the oil and gas money from Europe and stayed quiet, instead of escalating indeed.
