Hail and ride never worked when it was used. It certainly won't now with the rise of self-entitlement.

There was one Rotherham route, operated by First before the cuts that still used Hail and Ride for a small estate section.  I was on this bus when a lady hailed the bus. She was about 15yrds from a side road, good place to stop and visible to the driver. Bus stops, she boards and driver goes to set off.
Stood at the other side of the junction, no more than 30ft was someone else and as soon as the bus set off she stuck her hand out.  Sheer laziness and entitlement not walking to the bus after it pulled up initially.

In that instance IMO the driver did right and ignored her.

The routes we've got with hail and ride are generally ok. There's the odd but of lazyness but on the whole I don't get much hassle with it. That's on quieter estates where we use it though, it's stupid to think it should be used on every route. Might aswell forget about a timetable down eccy road if people could just stop the bus wherever they like.

Hope the Coucil get back the bus service back to normal,as ever since the bus changes i have been late for work, did the Bus companies think about the working public at All,People start work normally at 6.00a.m but most of the buses or timetables have ever been removed or altered to unable people to get to work on time,Why?were they allowed to do this is totally disgusting

Typical average start time for a working person is about  0830. Personally my working day usually starts between 0330-0530 but can start as late as 1700 depending on allocation.

South Yorkshire is finding out what 'You reap what you sow' means.

Good news for Bus Users 😁

Our esteemed Mayor is setting up a bus task force - That'll fix it 😂

Is this a repeat of his predecessors (failed) attempt?

Funded by the government cash given to support and improve public transport, cash he and SYMCA should have spent on tendered services in the first place?

It'll be a task-force of his nearest and dearest & their recommendation will be do what Burnham has in Manchester, copying the London (failed) model. We all know it doesn't work but it puts more money through his grubby hands.....
