Living near the Northumberland coast, during the summer months on all of the popular beaches in the area, and there is a lot of them, you will always see RNLI coast guards sat in there little office, a yellow hut, on the sea front watching people playing in the sea.  It was in the local newspaper a few years ago how many times they have had to go out and rescue people who got into difficulty.

Most of them are volunteers, so yes I will continue to suppose them for that reason.
