Should be looking at the unit rates being offered, not the monthly contribution to the bill. Two very different things.
HeHasRisen
@Padders Will be honest its a bit of a scandal now. Most of the country paying 33p/34p a unit until the end of June...
HeHasRisen
Prices are so low currently that people on certain dynamic tariffs were being PAID overnight to use electric. As an example, between 1am and 1.30am this morning some people were paid 5.5p for every unit they used, rather than being charged anything. Meanwhile, the rest of the country were charged 33/34p still...

When gas prices reached 500 dollars a therm, it made national headlines, Todays gas is trading at 82 dollars, and still no reduction in bills.... Oil is on a similar downward trend.. Gas prices on my tracker are 4.35p today (lowest it's been since I went on this tariff) and electric is 17.6p today and 18.07p tomorrow. It's nice to be able to have those prices but I agree it's taking the mick now for everyone else.

The cap goes down on the 1st July, announcement on what that is before the end of the month. Edited May 18, 2023 by HeHasRisen
