Energy Bills.

I'm guessing the jump is because of the sudden blast of chilly weather? Forecast for next week is cool, but not cold, and fairly breezy from Tuesday.

Once it moves into being properly wintery the markets will settle down?

There was a frost last night, the first one this winter, for me.

There is no wind tomorrow so heavy reliance on gas to generate electric, and the price of that is up 50% in a week.

More wind as the week progresses.

Energy prices falling dramatically again...

Yet our bills are going up again in January.

We had a small reduction early in the year..

How come this "Price cap" is only applied when prices are high?

It changes every 3 months based on the numbers from the last 12 months. Current pricing won't be reflected until the next announcement.  The Jan one was announced the other week.

Wholesale prices are still high compared to the last 10 months.

Someone I know has a very good way of avoiding the cost of living crisis and avoiding high heating costs.

He goes to the Seychelles for 3 months in a 5 star hotel, I think it only costs around £7,000 per week.

By doing this he doesn't have to worry about the cost of heating his home

Hope he drains his central heating system, if it’s a wet one of course, otherwise he may return to a very damp house!

Im working away and I turn off the water mains and shut off my electricity

But I still get charged £20 per month service charge for electric and £15 for water

£120 for council tax which I don't mind paying

I've told them no one is living there but they insist I still have to pay.

I told them I moved out and they said I had to provide proof that I've sold my property

I'm pretty sure that if I looked into it that it's illegal to charge me for not using the service

3 months all inclusive in Benidorm, is cheaper than living here (Winter months)
