We have taken hundreds of thousands of somalians

We have housed them, fed them, gave them medical care, free schools and asylum

Im  sick of being told we dont do enough

In fact i think its time we say enough is enough...we've done our fare share now its time they sorted out their own mess

We (the West) are the cause of much of the suffering inflicted on the third world. During days of successive Empires we subjugated them, enslaved them, robbed them and raped their land of its natural resources. They have never recovered. We then lent them money as 'aid' and demanded it back with interest, causing massive third world debt and more poverty.

We are rich because they are poor. We have taken more than our fair share of the Earth's resources, and left them with crumbs which they have to squabble over just to survive.

Winners and losers. Still we never learn.

We are now wrecking our own countries too with our greed.

Not sure if youve watched the news but most people in this country are not rich and many are gonna struggle to get by this winter

Also, civil war is the reason that Somalia is such a mess...nothing to do with the British empire

You cant apply that argument to every country on the planet

The UK is the sixth richest country on the planet.

So, by definition, most UK citizens are rich, by global standards.

See my last paragraph....

The civil war is being fought over the crumbs; when it boils down to it, inequality is what most civil wars are fought over.

This amazes me. We can get water into the middle of the desert to make 50 foot fountains flourish in Las Vegas. We can make Dubai, one of the hottest places on the planet, a playground of the rich. Australia is a thriving metropolis in spite of being three quarters desert and scrub . We live on a planet which is four fifths water, but when it comes to Africa, we turn a blind eye and refuse to help.

It's in all our interests to live in a more equitable world and share resources and technology. The truth of it is, it suits us to keep them poor, just as it was to our benefit to destabilise the middle east. We keep them down so we can be on top.

Why does it suit us to keep them poor . What do we gain ? Australia is a thriving metropolis in the coastal regions
