I bet i'll still be able to pay for my shopping in Tesco and other shops with cash. The notes might have the kings face on it by then.

You will.

Even for those tradesman that insist on cash in hand jobs to avoid tax. Cash will still be around no matter how much the tech deniers insist

Its funny seeing people getting wound up about it.

Same with the supermarket loyalty cards. People "worried" that Tesco know they buy pet food and bog roll. Why? Its a bizarre stance to take.

Do you really think the government will not go cashless just so Joe Bloggs the plumber can avoid paying VAT on work he's carried out, the "black economy" is one of the things they want to stamp out. 🤣

There are far more reasons for the Government wanting to go cashless than knowing what individual items people buy.

They won't ever stamp out the black economy because it will exist in one form or another.

Cash will always be around whilst other countries still have their own currency as well .

Let's say in the near future the Gov want's to push the climate agenda further and restrict personal travel, spending on fuel could be "rationed" and once you've spent over your limit you can't get anymore, it would be that easy to control what and how you spend, a very dangerous precedent and one we'll sleep walk into as people seem to think the Gov has our best interest at heart strangely.
