You really can't say the BoE agree with you about what the biggest contributor to inflation is, which they have as energy costs.

It's even a bit of a stretch to say that they agree with you about how bad it will be, since I don't think you ever made any forecasts about the timing and magnitude of the economic effects of lockdown.

Quantitative Easing has been releasing £billions into the economy ever since the Financial crash of 2008 and is still doing it. There's more money in the system than at any time in history. We are awash with money and this has caused inflation but it is never mentioned. (Think Germany in the 1930's.)

But where is it?

It's gone into the back pockets of the super rich and Corporations, who have grown incredibly wealthier during these difficult times when everyone else is struggling to survive.

There has never been such a wide gap between rich and poor, and poverty is encroaching higher and higher up the social scale, until winner takes all.

Let the Hunger Games commence...

Not stinking hypocrisy. That’s a fact right there.

The economy is the responsibility of the government of the day.

That is all

The ‘government of the day’ is there to attempt to ensure that the major players keep within the rules of the game, some hope there. 🙄

It is stinking hypocrisy because the Labour party supported, and indeed wanted even more of, the very strategy which caused  the problem.  So, what definition of hypocrisy are you using if you think Labour criticising the government for trashing the economy is not hypocrisy ?

So Labour,Social Democrats ,SNP and a majority in the Conservative Party supported most of the measure taken under the Conservatives.

The only hypocrisy that I see is from anyone that expects an Opposition party not to question and oppose.

Brexit and pandemic measures damaged the economy and the up steps Truss with a budget designed to hammer another nail in the coffin.

Socialism at work! :)

Economic chaos, and European wars!

And, as Maggie Thatcher said, "Running out of other people's money!" with spiraling, unsustainable, deficits.

Is how the system you use to post your ridiculous, ill-informed guff came into existence...

...and even the foundations that was built on, all paid for with public money. :?

Economic chaos, and European wars!

...have nothing whatsoever to do with "Socialism at work" :?

And, as Maggie Thatcher said, "Running out of other people's money!" with spiraling, unsustainable, deficits.

Maggie sold off the UK's vast public utilities and council housing stock to placate the markets, the very definition of "other people's money".

By far the majority of those spiraling, unsustainable, deficits over the last 40 years have been from governments on the right (in both the UK and US)...

...and another claim falls by the wayside under the most basic of scrutiny. :?
