poppet2
I only put mine on just for an hour, usually in the evening, just to take the chill off.
Happ
Been on for at least a month. In fact, it doesn’t really get switched off except for going to bed. The temperature is set on the thermostat (22c usually), and if it drops below that, the heating comes on.
RollingJ
Yup - went on on the 3rd, but I am in an old house without cavity wall insulation, stone floors and two deep stone cellars - a tad difficult to keep warm - even in the summer, the front of the house (north-facing) is never boiling. crookesey
Yes, thermostat is set at 20c, comes on at 05:00, we turn it off at circa 11:00, can’t see the point of central heating if we don’t use it.
Dromedary
Had it on for a few hours on Saturday as the grandson said he was cold after going to the match. Not bothered myself as the heat from the computer under the desk keeps me warm! Edited October 18, 2022 by Dromedary
Cody's Granddad
It's alright saving the cost of fuel by clothing up but the cold doesn't do your house any good either. Can see lots of people homes full of damp by March. I have a coal/log fire so that see's to my downstairs but the upstairs still needs heating. Thankfully the weather has been mild of late and think I have used my heating twice just for an hour or so, haven't even had to put the log burner on yet except on a couple of occasions. I stopped heating my hall a couple of years ago. It has two outside walls and so is very cold. Some of the wallpaper started peeling off so I've had to restick it, and I'm not happy climbing up ladders these days... So far this year I've only been heating the living room. rainylady1
Put it on 31/9 for half hour to test it after having a new boiler fitted, it's not cold enough yet.
