At least he adds a bit of variety to the Forum..

Makes a change from reading the boring Conservative thread.

My bold

Yeah I've dipped in and out of that thread a few times. It's like the covid thread and just goes round in circles..

The slaggers off never start threads , without the few on here that do (and get abuse ) there would be no forum ,in fact its pretty dead already }

I think It's fair to say most threads seem to be started by a small bunch of regulars.

For my part, a good proportion of threads I start I don't contribute past my OP.

I'm just trying to generate conversation for the forum and I may not even have an opinion on the topic I've started.

Absolute non story again posted by the number 1 thread starter of non stories

No in this case I side with Daddy.  He's brought a nation news story to SF & asked for comments.  Don't shoot the messenger.

As for the story itself, the patient 'perceived' someone to be transgender.  The hospital did the right thing in refusing.  You don't get to pick & choose who treats you in the NHS.  As long as they're qualified, a doctor is a doctor, a nurse is a nurse.

The patient wouldn't even get to pick & chose in the private sector.

My view

She FEELS (her own emotion) that mixed care is unsafe for women. There is no evidence that mixed care is dangerous to women.  She is asking the hospital to break gender discrimination laws for a personal PREFERENCE.

If I were needing a life saving procedure then I wouldn't care who was performing it or who was seeing to my after care as long as they were suitably trained and licenced.

Whilst I accept there was a lapse with the medical staff, it was minor at best and there was actual harm beyond the fact that the staffer looked at the patient.

She claims that she wants all female staff because she thinks that male staff are likely to be porn addicts with a specific 'perversion' to paraphilia, despite studies that women can also be paraphilic.

She basically stated that all the male and trans-female staff were sexual predators whilst disregarding the fact that females can be predatory.

The hospital was correct in refusing to treat this woman any further. As it's a private establishment then they have the right to refuse anyone who wishes to discriminate against their staff.

Agree with you.

And they might be bloody good doctors & nurses.  Anyway it's not as though someone from the medical staff is going to enter the operating theatre with  a beard & smoking a pipe, while wearing a flouncy summery dress & tell here his name is Deidre because its Saturday.

The patient should be greatful for actually getting treatment.
