There's supposed to be a housing shortage. If the currently used buildings can be repurposed - cheaper than building from scratch - what is the problem?

Because it'll probably be student accommodation or 'exclusive' property in the heart of the city centre i.e. expensive to buy!

with the former man power building being changed to flats and opened up to london road what are peoples thoughts at all these thousands of folk now being brought to live in the city centre and the shalesmoor area?

What on earth does this have to do with Shalesmoor?

How do you know?

Looking at all other developments happening in the city centre, that is my assumption.

It's either going to be student accommodation or expensive apartments.

Realistically, it's not going to be affordable social housing, is it?

Whatever it is, logically it releases other properties, as we are not going to get a  sudden massive  influx of people from elsewhere. If it is, say, student accommodation, it should release properties in other area which are more suitable as family homes.

Still doesn't help the social housing issue, though.
