No Talk Of Politics Or Religion

Recommended Posts

Religion and politics really get people going, probably because it affects everyone in one way or another, and everyone has different points of view. It's hard to avoid. Whether you think it's a lively discussion, pointless arguing or just plain boring is up to you, but it certainly shouldn't be banned.

If everyone agreed all the time there'd be no discussion and there wouldn't be much point in the Forum.

And it was never a discussion about religion, it was just a thread to bash Christians. No one ever dare to question any other religions.

So long as they leave Hinduism alone. Rishi's religion has had very little attention, it's almost like people/media are scared of it.

Is it a big deal that our leader is a Hindu?

How does it differ from other religions?

The discussion never went anywhere

As a believer the discussion usually descended into the usual

Bible is fiction

Any pro religion website was debunked as Chinese whispers

Big Bang Theory

Nonsense. e.g. There was that muslim guy who posted on religious threads who's posts people questioned but since he just monologued rather than actually engaging in discussions it wasn't very fruitful.

It's more likely the case that people on the forum don't know much about Hinduism and there aren't any openly Hindu posters willing to debate it.

It certainly generates strong feelings, and people do seem to becoming more polarised in their opinions. Not just on SF but the world in general.

Hmmm...

Maybe it's because all the decent, sensible ones in the middle are fed up with all the rubbish posted by both sides and have decided to just leave them to it?

Very true, which is why I usually steer clear, although I did have a fruitless few minutes in the 'Labour Party' topic a little while back.

Sorry yes you are right. There was 1 open Muslim and posted. Mostly the discussion about religion focused mainly on Christianity though
