Being allowed to stay should only be considered if they were genuine refugees (not economic migrants) and had entered the country in a proper manner. We would be inundated with people from all over the world forever after. Have you thought about where they are going to live when there is not enough housing to house all our own people. It should be a ruling that you cannot allow immigration to continue unless the Government (not Local Councils) provide affordable housing and increase spending to provide local health services, dentists and schools. It's wrong to think that everyone opposes immigration simply because they are racist. We need decent housing, good and easily available health care and public services and WE DON'T HAVE THOSE THINGS NOW. This is what is portrayed in the news though. And spoken by people in general. I watched (regret now) a news programme on this, where the arguer had this point of view... and said '1/3 of NHS workers weren't born in the UK' This kind of logic is used to justify this accusation of racism. It's false logic though. Firstly, even if the 'one third' is correct, it includes people who aren't medically trained, which is most of them (cleaners/cooks/transport etc.)... and secondly, because it's implying that one third of people who are trying to get into England are medically trained. Before anyone, tries to trip me up here... the same person said, 'one third of the NHS staff weren't born in the UK, and the UK is desperately short of nurses and doctors. Add all this together, and it is simply misleading people using a series of false logic.

We have lots of people living in slum conditions who should have first choice of any houses, flats, or other accommodation so where would you put the immigrants? cressida
Exactly, and he said we were playing the Johnny Foreigner card, if it's any card it's the government's we haven't enough money for all this immigration because we are already in debt.

Sounds like a nutter to me. Right wing, left wing both have their fair share of nutters. The silver lining here is we now have one less to worry about.
