Here it is again. Do you honestly, really believe that 14% of a cohort of people that are either a) earning just below the median average earnings, or b) earning above/way above it, are using foodbanks? Delbow
Of course the Tories will try and portray this as a 'union baron' hitting the red button and everyone obediently voting for strike action, but if that was the case they'd have been on strike every year for the last few years. This is the result of years of austerity and public pay 'restraint', coupled with the cost of living crisis. The Tories have massively degraded the NHS and now the poor health of the population is holding back economic growth for the first time in centuries The UK spends the second lowest amount per person on health care of the G7 nations. Time for a wealth tax to turn the tide for the 99%

Guest sibon
It’s always the same, isn’t it. Someone suggests taxing the well off a little more, and there’s a queue of Tories trying to explain that £80k isn’t a very high salary anyway. Someone else suggests that useful members of society should get a decent pay rise and the Tories are up in arms. “£37k is enough, how much do you want to be paid?” The truth is that mortgages, rents, food and energy are all going through the roof. Wages have to follow. And, whisper it, but high wages are going to have to come down to pay for it.
