bungleboy69
Everytime I drive past in the evening this place is in darkness. Is it no longer lived in? Anyone know anything? Seems crazy with the shortage of housing stock for rent atm...

Baron99
I've always liked the look of this building. One of the better looking tower blocks.

bungleboy69
I don't really understand why you'd kick everyone out and do a full refurbishment. Why not do a floor at a time or perhaps do in sections to minimise loss of revenue.

Virtually everything that could go wrong did go wrong with it — from planning right through to building and occupancy. It was costing a fortune in rebates and maintenance fees, so they apparently decided to end all tenancies to ‘do it up’ to sell instead. Indeed, apartments are on the market now. https://uk.selectproperty.com/velocity-tower-lp/ Sheffield Forum | The Sheffield Guide | The Sheffield Shop

However, when I was delivering, I delivered to a few flats, and tbh the flats are great inside, and the views are really good. (can see Bramall Lane!)
