You have a poet's mind Cuttsie🙂

Actually Dylan Thomas was the one with the poets mind, Cuttsie is just a grumpy old bugger like so many of us.

I was returning a trolley to the rank a week or so ago when two young girls were approaching me with a full trolly the one pushing it was chuntering away on her phone and not looking where she was going. The other one said to her " Mind out for that old fella " . Unbelievable!

He appreciates Dylan (Yes, I knew Dylan wrote it) it's a lovely line.

As for the trolley girls they should be so lucky to get to your age.

Quite like this:

An honest man here lies at rest,
As e’er God with His image blest:
The friend of man, the friend of truth;
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
Few heads with knowledge so inform’d:
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this.

This past weekend I thought of colleagues who were killed whilst serving in the army in the early 1970s.

They were only in their 20s and  it made me realise how short their lives had been and the experiences they had missed.

We should value every day and realise that the phrase "The present" time means that each day is a gift.
