GrinderBloke
the ever-so-funny stuff Martin kelner used to do? Martin Kelner is still using the same old material on BBC Radios Leeds/Sheffield & York each Friday and Saturday night 22:00-01:00 Tonight Saturday 22nd July 2006 Martin was saying that he thought his first radio broadcast was on Radio Hallam in 1977, doing a country show? Do any of our resident Radio Hallam experts know if this is correct? You can listen again to the Friday and Saturday night shows at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/ then launch radio player > local radio stations > Radio Leeds etc. Martin also does a podcast (mp3, for us oldies) of stuff which is not suitable for broadcast on the BBC: http://www.martinkelner.com Happy memories indeed

lennonman
just finished reading a book that Martin Kelner wrote a few years ago called 'When will I be famous'-travels through the dark side of show business. He follows pub and club turns, well away from the bright lights of the West End. Its absolutely hilarious and shows he is still a very funny bloke. Recommend it to anyone. Great memories of his shows on Hallam.

Probably because it was linked well over a year ago and has long since been removed. Maybe the OP still has the mp3 and can link it again?
Joe9T
http://baxterdeffon.netfast.org/hallam/hallam78.mp3 not had time to mess with it and remove tape noise, edit, equalize it, etc, its rough and ready.......38 MB file size, lowest size I could make it in Adobe Audition...48 minutes long approx...VERY dated but wonderful...it SHOULD stream on even slow connections as its high compression.... dont know what my bandwidth limit is so if it does not start......er....try again another day... STOP PRESS recompresSed the file, its now about 10MB and sounds almost the same quality it would be lovely to hear these again any chance of a repost goldenfleece thanks

IRONMONGER
I rememember Kelly Temple always called Frechville Frenchville. When I were a lad I used deliver Ray Stuart's papers, except he was called Ray Brooks aka Frankenstein ( and his monsters) I am sure that his alsation bit him when he had his stage gear on. Also Beverley Chubb, Keith Skues and the old feller with the nightingale.
Joe9T
and the old feller with the nightingale. That would be Bill Crozier. By the way please, please, please re-link those vintage Radio Hallam recordings from earlier in thread, PLEEEEESE!!!
