How many times does it need explaining to you that the Lane is not your old pitch? Obtuse doesn't even begin to describe it.

I'll   type   this   very   slowly   in   order   to   give   you   a   chance   to   comprehend.

The Wednesday, as they were then known played at Olive Grove and one or two other places. When they had a match that they knew would attract a bigger crowd than their own ground could accomodate they hired the use of Bramall Lane.

When White Hart Lane was being rebuilt Spurs hired Wembley and played in it many more times than The Wednesday played at Bramall Lane. Wembley is not Spurs ground, understand?

The Wednesday chose to leave the city of Sheffield and move to a ground outside the city boundary. In 1929 forty years after the formation of Sheffield United The Wednesday decided to add the city name to their title as the city boundary had been extended at that time to include parts of South Barnsley.

Now, in order to remove all doubt and prevent you from continuing to make yourself look daft take a look at this.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steel_City_derby

In particular take note  of the very first derby meeting between the two clubs, a friendly which took place at The Wednesdays home ground of Olive Grove.

The return friendly took place at Sheffield Uniteds home ground, Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United are the City of Sheffields one true and indisputable professional football club. Sheffield FC and Hallam however have their unchallenged  place in football history and no Blade would deny it to them.

As for the other comment, I appreciate that paying your way is an alien concept for some of you owls but it's the way most of the world operates.

They robbed little Worksop Town of just a few bob a few years ago , nearly sent them bust ,   And pinched Bramall Lane from Yorkshire Cricket club , denying Sheffield test cricket forever .

Meanwhile The  Wednesday had to pay for their own grounds inc Olive Grove and Owlerton . That is the honourable thing to do .

Its about time Curry had another benefit match , maybe Leeds will gi him one this time .

Most people who supported a club that had to be bailed out from going bankrupt by the Co-Op and also changed its legal identity by forming a new company to replace the original one in order to avoid litigation would avoid getting into this type of debate.

Not you however, keep digging.

Points deducted for cheating.

Admin threats for tax bill and debts.

Paying for your own ground do you really want to discuss that one 6 points deducted.

Begging letter to FA for compensation  weeks after a disaster in your stadium which didn't have a safety certificate.

Players jailed for match fixing.

How far do do you want to go with this honourable thing?

You can't beat original , its like mini's , now pretending to be the same as the original ones although just a poor imitation ,  Or Waggon wheels that were six inch round when first invented now just a biscuit , Bags of crisps busting at the seams wi a little pouch full of salt in em , now jus a imitation bag full of air  .

And then original togga clubs in two horse Towns like Sheffield , Nottingham , Bristol and Liverpool ,

All these have just one original ,   The word is self descriptive , It means the first , the one that set the ball rolling ,

All others are copy cats , Waggon jumpers , fakes . nearly forgot Port Vale and Stoke City

Or like the football club that changes it's name, closes down and starts again as another company, it's nothing like the original just a poor copy.

Sheffield FC were the first, not just in Sheffield in the world,  what on earth are you rambling on about?

Everton were formed 14 years before Liverpool the Blades are also older than Liverpool. So what?
