In the USA during segregation there would be lots of signs along the lines of "no colored allowed" etc, so that term carries quite a stigma there. How much stigma is attached to it currently in the UK, I don't know.

In exactly the same way nobody used the phrase "half cast" anymore, well maybe someones 90 year old gran still does.

I know a few what use the term "half cast" myself included occasionaly.

If a person is black then i use the term black, not coloured!
