You're supposed to be a teacher?

There you go, making more assumptions.

You don't know the difference between an "assumption" and a "question"?

I do. But your grammar makes them terribly difficult to distinguish. As evidenced above.

Did I ever tell you that I like evidence?

As I said, god help you all!

And you and others fail to distinguish between a fact and a postulation, which makes the ensuing arguments as shaky as a skyscraper built on quicksand.

Anyway

Thanks for your kind thoughts.

But they are more likely to be influenced by today's penchant for knocking down pioneers of discovery, Columbus, literature, Shakespeare, Hans Christian Andersson, et al,  politicians who kept the world at peace, and the guy that developed the electric car, and showed NASA how to get folks to space and back using re-cyclable rockets :)

Space Karen didn't develop the electric car - he bought a company that had produced one, but even they weren't the first to do so. He also didn't show NASA how to use recyclable rockets - you may recall the Space Shuttle. He did massively benefit from the US government's policy of promoting the commercialisation of space by funding private ventures in preference to NASA.

Indeed, he's not a founder of Tesla, he started as an investor long after that.

It was never the case that NASA couldn't do any of it, just that they did not get the funding to do so.

Ultimately the farming out of this work is why SpaceX exists, and what saved it from insolvency...

...without NASA, there would be no SpaceX! It can't sustain itself without public support.

Just correcting exaggerations of what Musk has actually achieved. If you'd care to check, you'll see that I actually praised him on his forum for not getting involved in Branson and Bezos's first billionaire in space willy waving contest when, whilst they were arguing about where the edge of space started, Musk's rockets had delivered astronauts to the ISS which is significantly higher than either Branson or Bezos were aiming for.
